Alignment – Bible Study

Alignment is important for every Believer who wants to walk closely with Jesus. But it is easy to get off and not be in alignment with what the Lord wants for you. This Bible Study will encourage you to seek a deeper walk and alignment with Jesus.

1. What comes to mind when you think of alignment?

2. Read Romans 8:5-11.  What sticks out to you?

3. In John 21, Peter goes fishing.  Do you think he was completely turning his back on Jesus or was this just a regular fishing trip?  Why do you think so?

4. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:14-22.  Does this represent a good list to follow to walk the Christian life?  What is missing?  What would you add?

5. How do you actually live out Proverbs 3:5-6?  What does it look like in real life?

Grumbling – Bible Study

In our lives, we are constantly influenced by a multitude of people and things. Ideally, we seek positive influences that uplift and inspire us. But what happens when the influences in our lives are overwhelmingly negative? Unfortunately, for many, complaining and grumbling have become a favorite pastime. When immersed in such an environment, it becomes all too easy to adopt a negative attitude and join the chorus of discontent. Let’s face it, considering the current state of our country and the world, negativity seems like the default stance. For the Believer, how does negativity impact our relationship with God?

1. What do you think of the saying, “You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with?”

2. Read Numbers 2:2-13. What do you think about what God says to Moses in verse 12?

3. Read John 6:60-65.  Did grumbling or negativity kill the disciples faith and trust in Jesus?

4. Do you feel that Philippians 2:14-16 states we should not grumble as Believers?  If so, how do we best accomplish this?

5. What are some ways that we can curve/remove grumbling and negativity from our lives?

Getting Unstuck – It Starts Here! Bible Study

Every Believer has times when they feel far away from God, like He isn’t answering prayers or not even listening. We know that God doesn’t change! So, when this happens, where do we go or how do we start to get unstuck?

2. Read Romans 12:1.  What are your thoughts about this verse?
3. With the words used in verse 1, “urge” and “mercies of God,” you get the idea that Paul was setting up something important.  Does this understanding cause you to look at verse 1 differently?

5. Do you agree or disagree that “your spiritual service of worship” should be the starting place for all Believers?  Why or why not?
6. How do you suggest Believers get to a point where they are able to realize their spiritual walk isn’t where it is supposed to be and reset?

The Unseen World – Bible Study

As believers, we are called to engage in a spiritual fight that takes place in the unseen world. The Bible teaches us that there is a spiritual world that exists beyond what we can see with our physical eyes. This spiritual world is where the real battles in our lives takes place, and it is where we must fight to overcome the forces of darkness.

1. When you hear the term, the Unseen world, what do you think about?
2. Read John 3:1-12. Why was it so hard for Nicodemus to understand that what Jesus was talking about was spiritual?
3. Why is it so hard for others to consider a spiritual world, but at the same time, go to movies, watch TV and read books that discuss it?
4. Paul wrote in Ephesians 6:10-20 that we are fighting a spiritual fight.  What are you thoughts about this?
5. Should we consider the evil forces in the spiritual world at work when things are not right in our lives?
6. Read 1 Corinthians 2:10-16.  What sticks out in this Scripture?
