I have been cooking with cast iron for over 10 years, but I still learned new things from this article! I was so glad to hear you talk about cast iron cookware being an heirloom we can pass on to our children- recently I was reading an Amazon review for a cast iron item and the person had thrown the item away, as it had got rusty and was therefore “low quality”- no, no, no! Thanks for sharing this article on your podcast, and your helpful commentary.
One of the things I do when we use camp ovens is to use large aluminum oil pans to keep the coals from blowing ashes and to make cleanup easier.
